Teriyaki Pork Lettuce Wraps
I recently went to dinner with friends to a well-known large chain restaurant. And couldn’t eat a thing 🤣! But sometimes it’s about the company more than the food. Anyhoo...I’ve been wanting their lettuce wraps ever since, so I made my own soy and sesame seed free version at home!
•1 lb ground pork
•1/4 white onion, diced
•4 garlic cloves, minced
•1 carrot, shredded
•1-2 cups shredded green cabbage
•1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
•1 green onion, finely sliced
•1 head of Butter Lettuce or "Living" Lettuce
•1/2 tsp sea salt
•1/2 tsp garlic powder
•6 tbsp Coconut Aminos
•2 tbsp honey
•2 tsp ground ginger
- In a skillet, cook the pork until it begins to brown.
- Add the onion, minced garlic, sea salt and garlic powder and continue cooking over medium heat.
- In a bowl, mix together the coconut aminos, honey and ginger. Combine well, then add 3 tbsp of the mixed sauce to the pork, reserving the remainder for drizzling over finished wraps.
- "Stuff" the lettuce leaves with pork, and top with the shredded cabbage, carrots, cilantro and green onion.
